Leaving Pershore bridge
The original bridge was built in the 14th century and how lovely it is.
The newer built in 1928 to accommodate the motor car.
Pershore lock
with its unusual ground paddle which must be opened first. The gate paddles are opened when the water reaches the lock sill.
Moored in Pershore along the playing fields. The mooring poles having been extended to cope with the river when in flood.

Pershore Abbey dates back to 689AD and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book
As you leave the Abbey and walk into Abbey Park you can see the sculptured wood carving by Tom Harvey
Venturing into the Brandy Cask we discovered home-brew beer, wholesome budget-priced food set in a time-warp interior and we had tom wait for it to open at 7pm on a Saturday night!!!
