Worcester to Upton-on Severn

Goodbye Worcester and welcome Poppy Angela Allott born 23rd May 2015. I would post a picture but it seems I Cloud and the blog are incompatible!!! We have had a lovely time in Tynemouth getting to know Poppy and Trev is one very proud Grandad.

Hello "Braunston Bunch" aka narrowboats Huffler, Jola No6 and Charlotte - our travelling companions for some time to come.

Life jacket is in play for the mighty River Severn.

We take up where we left off in 2013, Arkholme and Huffler enter the lock first.

Margaret walks on to set the next lock

Jen helps opening the gate for us and I stay to help back set the lock ready for Jola and Charlotte.

Huffler waiting while we back set the second lock.

Up stream lies Diglis River Lock

We get the green light to enter.

The mighty gates!!!

Former Oil Jetty

Interesting sky light on this widebeam.

The Malvern Hills come into view.

Crops of sandstone rock are still with us.

An ostentatious, castellated mansion towers above the woods at Severn End

Approaching Upton - on - Severn and with moorings available we call it a day.

The floating pontoon rises up the poles with the river and shows a mark a foot from the top where a narrowboat has been moored.

Upton-on -Severn is a lovely town with highly individual shops

The Tudor House Museum telling of Upton's past and present.

' The Pepperpot' a 14th Century Tower and Upton's oldest building now housing the Tourist Information office.
