The water at Sharpness is so very clear.
Before we leave we go down to the marina and deal with the 'utilities' - fill with water and rubbish disposal.
So it is goodbye to Sharpness.
Highlights along the way........
Pirates to starboard!!!
It's very rare to have one of these pass by
We last saw this hotel boat moored in Worcester.
Moored three a breast at Frampton-on-Severn and there is still plenty of passing room.
Frampton-on-Severn is a beautiful linear village noted mainly for its green, which is about 100yards wide and fully half a mile long and claims to be the longest village green in England. We dined at The Bell Inn(in the background) and it was superb both food wise and service wise.
At the far end of the green is The Three Horseshoes along with a small cafe.
Anyone for a spot of rowing!!!
Trev going for a better view!!!
Gloucester is in sight.....
The working......
the new.......
Sainsbury's and Gloucester College.....
the renovated and the dilapidated. Our friends who we are travelling with first came to Gloucester over 25 years ago when the whole area was like the building at the far right of this picture. What a transformation!!!
We will be heading through this lock on Monday.
Out and about around Gloucester......
Canal and River Trust Offices
Gloucester Cathedral, a masterpiece of medieval architecture. Here is the largest stained glass window in England, the tomb of King Edward II and a moving memorial to a battalion of the Gloucester Regiment who made a heroic stand in the Korean War.
This Inn looked very inviting for a Sunday carvery but alas it could be a tad busy on Fathers Day!!!
Trev is doing engine maintenance ready for our trip back on the tidal River Severn and me; well I am going to settle down to watch Andy Murray hopefully win the Queens singles title.
Better say goodbye to Sharpness as well Trev.
