Its goodbye to Gloucester, this lovely dock and the beautiful Gloucester to Sharpness Canal.  We have loved  the peace, tranquillity, depth, width of the canal and of course no locks and lock keeper operated swing bridges has been a bonus.

Just love these ships

Low tide is at 10.30am and on queue the lock is ready for us.

Trev keeping us steady

going down

Out into the east channel

Charlotte and Jola following on.

Scenery along the way...

At Upper Partings the river is now wider and its character changes very little in all its journey to Stourport- most of the way its lined by trees and high banks.

In just over 11 miles we arrive at Lower Lode hoping for a overnight mooring

and a evening meal

Luckily the two boats had only stopped for lunch and we are set for the night.

This plaque on the door to Lower Lode Inn shows the flood
 line in July 2007.

As for our evening meal  - it was a Faulty Towers experience to say the least but the food, when it arrived, was good!!

Today its off  onto the River Avon and Tewkesbury.
