National Waterways Museum - Ellesmere Port

To access the lower basin a fee has to be paid in the museum entrance.  If you become a friend of Canal and River Trust ( for £5 per month) this allows one nights fee mooring and a second for £4.00 along with this you get free access to the museum, lots of info and a 10% discount in the shop and cafe.

After descending 2 locks we are in the Lower Basin .....

and we are a museum exhibit for the duration!!!!

The museum has a collection of preserved inland waterways craft and tells the story of boatbuilding with exhibits, models and photos.

This exhibit was donated from a pumping station in Burscough.
