Foxton Incline Plane

Incline planes were planned for Watford and foxton locks, only Foxton was built and opened in 1900.
An upper and lower dock, separated by a 1:4 gradient laid with rails, supporting two counterbalanced tanks each capable of taking a barge or pair of narrowboats.

Curiosity gets the better of Ollie ( doesn't usually do steps with gaps)

The lower arm is now used as permanent moorings

The whole area is well worth a visit!!
