Bobbing about on the Bridgewater Canal

More of Lymm

There
is a dam at the back of the town, built to carry the turnpike road over a sharp ravine which created this lovely lake and has a good path all the way round.

Before we left on Monday Trev had the job of "greasing his nipples"- a necessary job to keep the engine running sweet!!!

We called in at Thorn Marine to buy 5 new batteries.
A expensive job but despite Dave rewiring them(before we left Scarisbrick) they were having to
be charged far too frequently and washing was impossible.

A welcome distraction from paying the bill!!!

Moored at Moore, one of our favourite places as it means we are able to catch up with Pol and Billy who live close by and are kind enough to let me catch up with the washing.

Wednesday morning we got up to this- a shattered window. We don't know for certain how it happened but suspect a stone has flown up from a strimmer when the grass was cut.

This means that Trev has the task of removing the entire window and with the help of Billy aka the 4th emergency service it is taken to a firm in Wigan to have a new pane of glass fitted.  However because of the bank holiday weekend it wont be available to collect until Tuesday.

We are so lucky to have such kind friends.
