On to the River Thames

First job of the day Trev fastened on the anchor rope, a necessity on any river.

It's safe to proceed on to the river.

Isis Lock, the final one of the Oxford.

A sharp u turn and the next adventure begins.

Very narrow at the start of the short Sheepwash Channel.

The channel emerges to join the Thames itself, a right turn upstream for us to take us toward Lechlade, left
downstream for Reading.

With plenty of water beneath us and loads of space in which to meet oncoming craft Trev is one very happy chappie.

Boating Thames style.

Wildlife Thames style.

Nessy relocated????

Now that's a result!!!

With strict instructions for ropes to be held bow and stern the lock keeper does his job. Our canal and river trust licence is invalid on the Thames so once through the lock we have to buy a Environment Agency licence which will cover us for 30 days.

Kings Lock is self service and a learning curve

The windlass is redundant as the paddles are lifted by spinning a wheel.

Approaching Eynsham lock a wide beam boat is  aground????

Together Arkholme and Sokai pulled her free.

After using the services for elsan and rubbish we move down for water.

Free 24 hour mooring right next to the water point- that will do us for tonight.

Well we are on the Thames!!!!

The Yorkshire man sticks to his Guinness.

3 miles and 3 locks.
