After spending the winter at Scarisbrick Marina on the Leeds Liverpool Canal its time to resume our travels.
This year we are heading for the Thames via the Grand Union.
Pre-cruise pump-out and a problem which we won't go into in great detail, just to say it delayed our start by two weeks.
A good supply of logs
Planters well established.
and its goodbye to Scarisbrick
Lovely to see the first baby ducklings of the year
Canal & River Trust repairing the bank at Heatons Bridge
A few old aircraft hangers still remain on Burscough Industrial Estate which was originally a wartime airfield.
Disaster at Crabtree Swing Bridge
On to Burscough where we are spending our first night.
4 miles 2 swing bridges
(a nice gentle start)
