Birmingham

Brindley Place and around Gas Street

Brindley Place lies between the Sea Life Centre and Gas Street Basin

It is a mix of up market shops, eateries and the biggest meringues ever.

Not to mention business and commerce.

All bordered by the canal.

Gas Street

Our mooring alongside the Barclaycard Arena and opposite the Sea Life Centre. On the outer edge of the basin it proved to be a quieter morning than expected.  A fair amount of daytime gongoozelers the evening being very quiet. No train or traffic noise or early morning call from the birdies!!!

The old warehouses now home to a array of eating establishments.

These roundabouts get everywhere!!!

With more miles of canal than Venice there is a Water bus service.

From Gas Street Basin we walked across Birmingham to New Street Station to purchase our 'travel together' rail pass ready for our trip back to Burscough next month for our medical appointments.
There is a lot of new building work and footpath diversions going on and we were relieved to find this quieter haven along the way.
